Optimized MPLS Routing for Assured Services (OMRAS)
Research project financed by![]() Funded period: October 2005 - September 2006 |
SummaryIn the former KING project, concepts and prototypes of a future carrier-grade IP platform for Next Generation Networks (NGN) were developed. However, Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) has become an important technology that is currently often used by Internet sercice providers (ISPs) for traffic engineering (TE) and in particular for protection switching. In this project, we investigate and optimize resilience mechanisms for MPLS like the Self-Protecting Multipath (SPM), MPLS Fast-Reroute (MPLS-FRR), and the interplay of MPLS routing and admission control (AC). |
